Wardrobe Malfunction, or, Sporran Vs Bookcase
As the rabble that was at the Dayton/Cincy kilt night last night knows, my sporran went to battle against a pair of 100# bookcases. The sporran (SWK nightstalker nylon cargo) survived, but the connector I had for the D ring broke. (I had replaced the original ones with clips from JoAnn fabric, because of snags) Being in a bind (not only because the only kilt strap I had was far far away and kinda problematic) I 'rigged' it using a ring from my keychain. inelegant, but it worked. Until the time came to load that car. This time, the snap broke from the leather part of the hanger. I arrived to the kilt night with a key chain holding one side of my sporran up and baling twine holding the other hanger to the belt.
After another day of mourning, I will have some pics up of the wreck of a system, I just haven't got around to taking a pic of it yet.
So, now I need to find and order a new sporran hanger, which I like better than a strap, though I may need to order such a chain as well. It seems all of the ones I am finding domestically online are similar to Jerry's in how they clip, but one of the members at the kilt night had one that had clips like I had used, but much larger and more imposing looking. He couldn't remember where they came from, but it may have been out of the country.
I could use some suggestions, since without a way to support my sporran, I can't really go anywhere kilted. (whole no pockets thing)
