Folks Mean Well....But Dang....

To me, kilt photos are the heart of this board. They fuel the addiction and the "want lists." A kilt pic, particularly a pleat shot, beats a tartan swatch any day.
As an often "lone kilter" its not unusual to ask a friend or a stranger to take my picture with my camera. Often I'll ask to take theirs first then ask them to please take mine.
Of course I also ask them to please be sure the kilt shows.
Its a disappointment to download the pics from the camera later and see that the kilt was included - sort of - like in the above pic.
Guess its just part of the adventure - but still disappointing. But, guessing the guy I met on this raft trip thought the background scenery was more important for the shot.
Really makes me appreciate my tripod and my ladyfriends who not only are good photographers but "get" the kilt part.
Don't know if there's anyway around the situation other than not asking strangers to take the picture. But if anyone has suggestions, please share them.
Off on another jaunt this weekend - through the rez and Monument Valley up into the San Juans to soak in the hot springs...Taking kilts...maybe some more kilt pics next week.
