Good luck on the genealogy journey. If you do use Ancestry.com, use it as a guide. Not all information is backed by documentation. Some if it is flawed and all should be verified with original source records.
It has taken years and much digging in the General Records Office of Scotland, the Public Records office of Northern Ireland, and many days in the Library of the New England Historic Genealogical Society, among others to locate verifiable data.
It is an addictive hobby, almost as addictive as kilting.
