Another big one.

We had anew guy, recent graduated Stanford shot-putter come out to practice with us tonight. As you can guess, his stone technique is fantastic, and on top of that, he's a good coach. So we had a *great* workshop just one stones.

Blocking, leading with the hip, lots of great stuff.

the sweet part about it is that while he's probably one of the top five stones throwers in the USA, he's good, but not THAT good at some of the other events. So we can help him with that. I told him one thing tonight and bumped his LWFD throws from mid 50's to well over 60. I can see 2-3 other things I can help him with. Jim W and I helped him with caber as well. He's so freaking strong that he can turn big sticks but his technique sucks. We can help him...

We help him, he helps us.

Tonight, in a 3/4 stance, not even going full out I put the open stone out at 29 feet several times. My PR is 28 and change. All of a sudden breaking 30 feet is eminently doable.

I am JAZZED.

I am SO looking forward to Dunsmuir in July... If I train hard and smart, I could break 43-44 feet in the LWFD AND 30 feet in the Open Stone in the same Games. Oh, that would be SWEET.
