So, I get a phone call yesterday from my cousin Billy. He asks "What are you doing tomorrow at 7:30?" I reply "Well, it's my weekend off, by 7:30 I should be at home..." He interjects "You'll be at the state park, Janice and I are getting married..."

...record scratch...

"Huh??"

He laughed a bit and assured me it was real.

They've been together for a number of years, and it was time. The reason for the last minute-ness is there pending move back to Maryland and his joining the USAF (made this former Airman proud with that bit.) Turns out they have to be married 6 months prior to his joining in order to have her on his orders for the first duty station.

So, he tells me he wants to be wed in his kilt. Absolutely no surprise. He has a USAK he ordered a couple of years ago. But, he didn't have anything else, other than a cheapie sporran and hose. So, I instructed him to be at my house last night for a mandatory sorting out. I couldn't have him getting married in a polo shirt with his shoddy sporran. He's a rather broad chested guy. Upon questioning he's the same chest size as I. So, I got him in my argyll, waistcoat, and bowtie. I gave him a pair of black hose, and gave him choice of sporrans from my modest assortment. He chose the Ferguson Brit Glengyle in badger fur.

So, here we are this evening...

I'm wearing my Carolina boxpleat made by Matt, with my L&M Skunk mask sporran. I had recently seen a photo of Sandford wearing a tweed jacket and tie sans waistcoat and belt. I thought it looked absolutely smashing. I gave the look a shot, and was very pleased with the outcome...
