In your earlier post we covered all about the access to the Stones...... English Heritage do allow special viists on guided tours , but they do ask the visitors not to actually touch the Stones!
Like Chas I went many years ago where there was absolutley free access and that was great, but sadly with the increased number of visitors and possibility of damage , certain preventative measures have to be taken to protect it...
That's right paulhenry. You must pay for the privilege, but for me it was well worth it. The tour takes place prior to, or after, normal visiting times when there is normally no access to the stones (we left London at 05:30 to get there by 07:00).
Always wanted to visit these stones. When I finally did, 20 years ago, I was so disappointed that you could not enter the stone circle. I'm so glad I found out about these special tours for this last trip, so I was finally able to fulfill my childhood dream and step inside the circle!.
