Well, it was understandable I guess. He came down from Jackson (he had done the same thing the weekend before for my mother-in-law's funeral, but was in a kilt that time) and had to get back immediately afterward because of something his granddaughter was doing. So getting all kilted up and changing afterward would have taken too long.

It was still an awesome graveside service though because my FIL was a veteran so we had buglers there too and they joined in on Amazing Grace and then played Taps and did the gun salute.




Wool is an amazing material that keeps itself clean and odor-free fairly well, so just letting wool hose air out between uses usually does the trick and washing them when they get muddy or start to smell is the usual regime I take with ours.

The ones with acrylic mixed in require washing a bit more often. The more acrylic, the more often they'll need washed.

I put baby power (you can use foot powder but baby powder is the same thing but cheaper) in my hubby's shoes when he's going to be doing something really sweaty or be on his feet a lot...
