Given the amount of material taken up in the pleating, box pleats and double box pleats are made to the stripe, not the sett.
thanks for the input,Wompet. I would hazard a guess that with 4+Meters of double-wide material that I should have enough material, to plett to the sett. Also, just doing some "test-pleatting" ( i'll be using the Macnaughton Ancient tartan), it almost seems as if this tartan was designed, to be pleated to the sett, in a double box pleat kilt - just seems to work out, right on the boundaries.
Anyway, this thread doesn't seem ( so far) to be getting much input, from folks who have already made a double box pleat - guess i'll just haveta rely on trial & error (once i finish the Maple Leaf knife pleat, i'm presently working on ;0) )
