Alex--Is it not Ponteland for Newcastle Airport.
The original airport was at the village of Woolsington on the south side of the runway (The nineteen thirties art deco terminal building still stands) but the new nineteen sixties terminal was built on the north side of the runway at the village of Prestwick. The airport was often referred to as Woolsington, to avoid confusion with the nearby military airfield at Ouston, but I don't think the new terminal was ever called Prestwick, that would have caused confusion with the Ayrshire Prestwick, although the correct postal address for much of the airport infrastructure is Prestwick. Ponteland is about a mile or two further out of the city from the airport, but is better known because it is a much larger village than Woolsington or Prestwick.
