Macdonald tartans mostly have sections of many thin red stripes which can be substituted for each-other to some extent which actually would make them one of the more ideal tartans IMPHO.
Since I am considering this on my next kilt, I would like to ask the same question. Sorry about hijacking the thread again, but what about the Ancient McKay in the PV?
