Here is something I discovered today and that I would like to share with you.

It is known that the founders of the Montgomery clan came from Normandy.

But how many know that the Montgomery family had Scots for ancestors ?

My demonstration :

Roger the First, Lord of Montgomery and Alençon (1020 – 1094)

Bernard de Pont-Audemer's mother : Groa Thorsteinsdatter of Dublin

Now watch this ! Groa's father : Thorstein Olafsson of Dublin The Red (858 – 888)

Thorstein's mother : Auda Ketilsdatter of the Hebrides also called Djuptenkte (830 - )

And who is Auda's dad ? Huh ? : Kenneth I, king of Scotland (810 – 859)

And from there : Alpin, king of Kintyre ( - 834) and all his glorious ancestors the kings of Dalriada.

Amazing, isn't it ?

Best,

Robert
