In August, I decided to purchase an Ireland's National kilt from Tartanweb, as they had a very good deal going, and their customer service seemed, according to several Xmembers, to be reasonable. So, at the end of August I made the plunge. I ordered a 5 yard, 16 ounce, pleated to the white stripe kilt.

My attitude toward Tartanweb is beyond description, absolutely wonderful!! Their new sales manager, Peter Reid, was just amazing in communicating with me. I give him a big thumbs up! Every question I had, which were many, was answered promptly and to my satisfaction. Peter kept me abreast of all that was going on with the kilt, like: if the material was available, when it was sent to the kilt makers, due date, etc. And, he promised to have the kilt to me in 4 weeks. Yeah, right! Well, to his word, the kilt arrived yesterday, to my delight, and it was in about the 4 week range. Unbelievable, considering it had to be made and shipped across the pond.

The kilt is fantastic! Workmanship is top notch! The material is from Marton Mills, which spells quality. The selvage is perfect...I have no other kilts with this type of perfect edging. Stitching (machine sewn) compares favorably to my hand stitched tank. Pleats are nice and crisp, and pleated to the white stripe. And, at 5 yards, there's only 15, but each one is nice and deep, so the swing, along with the 16 oz. material, is very decent. But, the over all weight is not as heavy as my tank; totally acceptable, though! The leather straps are nice and thick, buckles are top quality pewter. And, there's a nice inner material which lines the kilt, which I'm positive is canvas, to protect its top surface. To top it off, it fits perfectly!!!

All in all, this kilt, for the money, was just what I wanted...fantastic quality without breaking the bank. Would I recommend Tartan web to anyone? Oh, you better believe it!!! Customer service, at least for me, was great, and the kilt was of high quality. Thanks to Peter Reid for an outstanding job of customer service. I can't stress this fact enough!

I am a happy camper!

Oh, the dog's butt is in the pic. No not me!

A horrible attempt at "The Hamish!" I need practice!
