Lingered a bit at Monument Valley on my way home from a weekend at Arches National Park up in Utah.

This is "Forrest Gump Hill" where a scene from that movie was filmed.



The peaks below are called (left to right) Saddleback (see the saddle look), King on his Throne (side view), Stagecoach, Bear and Rabbit (hard to see, bear is on the left looking at the rabbit on the right), and Big Chief -which I'm standing in front of so don't think it shows.



And this is Agatha Peak, called El Capitan by the Spaniards. Agatha means lots of wool from the fur and wool scraped off on the volcanic rock by critters. Geologists say this is the core of an old volcano.
