Saying "the" kilt seems to inbue the garment with a certain mystical character, as if kilts were a form of clerical vestments.
It's wishful thinking, but I'd love to see kilts become the regular, everyday sort of garment they once were....
Oh I like saying the kilt! It's something special; just like I'm the Jack Daw!
