    Im going to attempt to make straps for my kilt out of an old "leather" dinner table place mat. Will post pics if it works out.

    Very impressive work! I love how you are using "scrounged" material too, rather than taking the easy way out and ordering pre-made straps. Super-cool use of materials and it looks great!

    It is finished!

    Here it is!





    In this picture... I don't know why the pleats are wavy like that. I followed all the instructions in Barb T.'s book. I think it might be the material that I used to make it.


    It was a great experience and I'm looking forward to making another when I have the time

    Wow... Your progress between kilt 1 and kilt 2 is incredible.
    Definitely has me inspired to step it up - I know I slack on the basting, proper lining materials, and some other details, but it looks like you followed the book down to the letter.
    Awesome job.
