My talented Wee Lass and my Sgian Dubh
I live on the West Coast of Canada in Vancouver B.C. I live with a fine Finnish Lass who is very talented and very much into the Scottish/ Irish history.
She knits wool mitts that she calls "Newfie" mitts" She learned how to do this from her Godmother. I asked her if she would be willing to knit me a pair of Kilt Hose using this pattern knitting a Scottish motif around the top of the hose. She could knit them in any colors I want but she has never knit hose. The hose has "Windows" of any colors in them and she is sure she could do a good job of it. I am asking the rabble and those who know if a pattern like this would be acceptable as Hose for a Kilt.
My Lass is also a quilter so I will post a picture of the last quilt she made.
I am also going to post a picture of a Sgian Dubh that I made. The black top is carved from "Argolite", a stone that is only found in Haida Gwaii (formally named the Queen Charlotte Islands) on the west coast of British Columbia Canada. The blade is made from 214 Stainless Steel. I still need to put a back on it with arbutus wood and do not have it finished yet. Arbutus trees only grow on the west coast of British Columbia and Washington State in the USA. I wanted to try and to make a Sgian Dhub that recognized my heritage and also the land and native culture I love.
Mmmm now how do I post a picture???
Maybe this way. Scream if it no be working and I find another way.

Lang may your lum reek and a wee mouse never leaves your cupboard with a tear in its eye.
