Not surprising. I customarily wear p@nts with a (allegedly) 33-inch waist. My true-waist measurement for a kilt, though, is 35.

I think you'll be happy. I was pleased enough with the first kilt I got from Rocky that I've since gotten two more.

    So far.

I find kilt sizing to be sort of like artillery fire. Take your best first shot then adjust. With any kiltmaker the first kilt is probably gonna be a little off no matter how well you measure and follow the kiltmaker's instructions (and they differ with different kiltmakers).

But once you have the first kilt strapped on you can then communicate the necessary adjustments on your next kilt order and you're dialed in with that kiltmaker since they keep good records. After that you only need to adjust for major weight gain or loss.

If your first kilt from a new kiltmaker is spot on then you're lucky and you done good. One more reason to order a bunch of kilts.

It might also be instructive to take the "Utilikilt measure" of those jeans: slip the tape measure through the belt loop & see what you get.

My USAK's have been exactly as ordered. You'd think that Rocky, Kelly, and Mac had made them just for me!

I once had a customer (and his wife) come in to be measured. He INSISTED he was a 34 (his pants size). I measured him at 37 which is about standard for someone with a 34 pants.

He didn't believe me. I brought out another tape measure and did it again. His WIFE read off the # on the tape. He still thought it was wrong.

After going back and forth for a couple minutes, I said the following in a light-hearted and friendly joking way:

"I can make a kilt to fit your body or a kilt to fit your ego. Which would you prefer?"

He opted with the body and the kilt fit perfectly.

Jason: We'd love a picture of you in your new kilt, if you are so inclined.

I shouldn't talk. I have yet to post a picture of my USA Kilts Law-Enforcement-Officers kilt. But, I still plan to do so, when I can get a good picture. I may have to face the ugly fact that there is no such thing as a "good" picture of me in a kilt.
I changed my signature. The old one was too ridiculous.
