    That is one nice looking kilt,
    18 ounce should keep you warm and hold a pleat well
    You did good!

    Now I know what my next box pleat will be

    oops I should have said 16oz. I do have 10 yards of 18oz Gordon sitting here waiting to become one heck of a bomb-proof knife pleat.

    I really like the inside buckle. I used a climbing webbing and snap buckles, It makes it so much easier to put on the kilt and allows for fast fine-tuning of the size. I think i will stay with this system on most, if not all, of my future kilts.

    Here is a photo of the inside strap and buckle. I find it easy to use and adjust.
    Any webbing should do and the buckles can be found at most outdoor stores.
