In reading the other thread, I boiled it down to this:
Clann na Geal - Children/descendents of the Gaels or Highlanders
The second phrase should read An Gradh Le cheile which means roughly United in Tradition.
A literal translation of the whole button would therefore be:Children/descendents of the Gaels united in tradition.
Now you need to think about having your own buttons on those jackets.
than ks for this, i was actually looking at the buttons on my Prince charlie the other day and wondering the same thing, now i have a bit of an idea at least!

Don't tempt me... I do all kinds of highly custom (and too expensive for actual use) stuff for my own kilt outfits. I know Kelly would kill me... not to mention my jacket maker.

The real cost is in the die; the rest is just... buttons.
You might want to try www.mmi.ie as they are set up to make buttons, special belt buckles, and other items not shown in their on-line catalogue.

I know there's someone here in the US that makes buttons as well... I had their site bookmarked... may have to look that back up. Hmmm... maybe a USA Kilts button. hahaha

Precisely! Engravable sterling silver versions from Hamilton and Inches - if you are armigerous, perfect size for engraving your crest. Of course, I think perhaps you could fit a clan badge of some sort on each button as well.
