I think one should get a grant from the Scottish tourist board for offering a photo opportunity to tourists (although I am a tourist myself when I am there)
John
This afternoon, I had a different question asked of me. While bicycling today, I was wearing my Balmoral bonnet and trousers, rather than a cycling helmet with shorts. And I was asked 'why are you not wearing a kilt?' Guess things can go both ways.
--------------------------------------- One has no need for a snooze button, when one has a hungry cat.
I get a kick out of being asked by those embracing their own culture/ethnicity.
Example, being asked by my Italian in-laws as they (third generation Canadian) speak with accents ( not sure how because they were born here), making the homemade wine, sporting Italia stickers on the car and correcting my pronunciation of "bruschetta"
During 58 years I had to satisfy the others in every aspects of my life.
Since I'm retired I don't have anymore to do it.
I began to wear the kilt shortly before I retired and decided to satisfy me no mater the reactions of my entourage.
People are pleased when I say that I decided to satisfy me and only me wearing a kilt.
This is not a costume like the fustanela weared by the Greeks or the sharovary trouser bu the Ukrainians.

You will find something for every day of the year.
Chris.
Thanks for the link to that site. Should I feel a need to, I can cite a Scottish reason for wearing the kilt any day I wear a kilt.
Usually I say, "because it's ***day (whatever day of the week it is) or, I wear a kilt on any day that ends with a 'Y'."
