    A quick google seach shows them for $750 to $1000. I've seen them from M-3 ranch in North Carolina for $600 or so. M-3 is usually at Stone Mt. Games with livestock for demonstration

    I used a section of bison hide for a pair of boots once-that stuff is darn heavy. The only issue that I had with it was that it was more like an extremely heavy deer leather-stretchy-instead of a cow hide that hardened when veg tanned.

    The only thing I would be concerned about, unless you got a small hide, would be the 8-10 ounce leather base. Have you considered red deer at all? Elen hunting may have some of those laying about.

    Well, I never heard back from them. So if they do make it to some highland games and have hair on hides they are selling in sizes appropriate for sporrans I would appreciate if someone could post the price.

    I have a tanned highland cow hide for sale. It is 5' x 4'.
    If your interested in it I would be willing to sell it for a good deal.
