I think those look great with the kilt myself. Going to have to see what I can find along the same lines for me.

Yup, those ankle brogues look great. Sometime it is a bit of a jump to look at old pics or paintings of kilted gentlemen and then borrow parts of their look without looking dated. Big up Dale Seago, you've got an excellent grasp of the modern iteration of traditional style.

That being said, I don't think I would wear them

I'm inspired by, and hopefully learning a bit from, many here at xmarks whom I see as exemplars of both tradition and personal style.

Quite all right, I'm the same way about kilt pins! I see many I admire greatly, even bought a vintage sterling one lately that even at a bit over $200 I just couldn't pass up. But I won't wear one.

I do think these ankle brogues could work with a tie and tweeds. They definitely will work best, I think, for casual or "field" wear, a country/rustic sort of look.

More brogues spotted while in San Francisco last weekend on Powell St. at Aldo's.

More expensive than the Florsheim. The store appeared too "hip" for the likes of me.
