One does never know, really.
It has happened that the Queen found herself unexpectedly in the front room of someone's home due to a car breakdown. Security could not allow a detour, so the Queen awaited the arrival of replacement transport in a house on the route.
I believe tea was served and that the cup and saucer used was subsequently put on view in a display cabinet, so keep those periwinkles dusted as they might just be needed.

Just curious, and I am not delving into political opinions or debate, I heard Cameron mention in PMQs last week that there is an issue of royal succession that the Commonwealth nations will be meeting to discuss in the near future. Unfortunately I did not catch the whole comment, is this visit at all related or a totally separate issue?

Different issue. PM Cameron wants to change the succession so that the eldest child, rather than eldest male child, can inherit the throne

But she will be opening the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting where the issue will be discussed.

Yes, I think so. As the succession affects all countries of which she is queen every country must be in agreement

The Queen!
As for the change to the succession, one wonders whether the EU is putting pressure on Britain to drop male primogeniture.
It is certainly a politically correct move (which to me means avoid it at all costs!).
And how long will it take to get every Dominion to agree to the change?

Ooooo. She could have tea with Rose and Daisy in the lounge while Onslow and the D of E shared a beer in the kitchen!

And the dog...?
If the Queen ever needs to visit the colonies, her Highness is more than welcome to pay a visit to my humble abode. I'll even break out the German tea service (it's my Great-Great Gran's).
