The tartan is the background to the website, and what is being worn by the gentlemen at the top right of the monitor when you log on.

Re: Xmarks Tartan Kilts
I know this is Rocky's section of the forum but please excuse me if I help out here.
the X Marks Tartan is shown all over the forum. It is the wallpaper behind each and every page.
Here is a scan of the original design by Matt Newsome.

There have been many kilts made from fabric in our Tartan. For those who do not have or feel uncomfortable wearing a Clan Tartan the X Marks Tartan is your "Official Tartan". It was designed specifically for wear by members of this forum. The Tartan is registered to the forum and listed in the Scottish Tartans Authority as ITI # 6679 and is recognized world wide as The World's First Internet Tartan.

Re: Xmarks Tartan Kilts
I couldn't find my pictures I took when it arrived, but here's me at a Dickens festival in my X-Marks kilt, made by Rocky from the original PV run.

There's also a stickied thread of X-Marks tartan photos;

Yes indeed, USA Kilts Semi Trad in the PV X-Marks tartan.
If you're wondering about the Semi-Trad, here's a review I posted for one of mine;
