Also a Great Buy on MOD Diced Hose
Thanks to a tip from Jim, posted here, I just put in an order for these officers red and black diced full hose as supplied and worn by the Highland Regiments, genuine Ministry of Defense issue, from the House of Labhran at 20% discount.
Not cheap, but they'll never be cheaper. Now the "jonesing" begins.

Jack, congrats on your new hose!
But, our advertiser here, Dunadd Trading Company's every day price beats their sale price by 11 quid and includes worldwide shipping.

Darn, that would have saved me a bit. Are their hose MoD issue?
Hmmm, I can't find Dunadd Trading Company among our Partners and Advertisers.

Keep scrolling to the bottom of the page. Their advert is at the bottom.

Frank is correct. Both businesses offer the same hose from House of Cheviot.

I wonder why they're described as "officers'" hose.
They're worn by all ranks with Mess Dress, and all pipers regardless of rank in the order of dress worn when piping at the Officers' Mess.
They were regiment-specific however, red and black worn by The Black Watch and The Gordon Highlanders.

Without wishing to appear too pedantic these are not strictly speaking MoD issue. They are House of Cheviot hose as supplied to the MoD and the pair you have purchased were supplied directly by House of Cheviot, not the MoD, to your retailer. Virtually every pair of this style of hose comes from the same supplier, with a few exceptions
It's really an example of slightly misleading advertising. Not wrong, but perhaps implying you are buying genuine ex MoD issued hose. The Buckle Brogues from Thistle Shoes falls into the same category in that they are also sold to the MoD for issue, but the pairs you buy are not themselves MoD issue unless you buy from an army surplus store somewhere. Still the same thing in practical terms though
If they had stopped with "Red and black diced full hose as supplied and worn by the Highland Regiments" that would have been sufficient description to avoid potential confusion
