Jimmy,
Have a grand time, my uncle "Scotty" enjoyed several voyages on the Queen Mary and Piped on most of them.

Re: Posing in the kilt on Queen Mary 2
We leave on Sunday from Glasgow Central Rail station on a Cunard special that takes us direct to the ship at Southampton. Breakfast and lunch on board the train is included in the cruise price, stops are being made at Carlisle, Preston and Stockport.
So with four formal nights, I have decided to bring only one kilt and that will be Hunting Stewart, but will wear on different nights, Argyll and Prince Charlie jackets with different colour shirts and stockings to relieve the tedium of being dressed the same on these four formal nights and if possible may sneak wearing the kilt casually on some other night.

Do it, Jimmy! Post evidentiary pics, too, when done.
(Stay clear of Queen Elizabeth, Jimmy.)

Wave out of the window when your train goes through Romsey. Was only today talking to a couple of guys in my office who are booked on cruises I even offered to lend my kilt to one of them even though he is a foot shorter in height and around the middle.
Have a great trip and looking forward to the photos.

Will do so Simon, I remember on one of the cruises I was on when this guy from Stirling was almost in tears when he saw so many kilties on board, he said that his wife had advised him that he would be the only one kilted on board and he did not bring his kilt, how wrong she was.

Re: Posing in the kilt on Queen Mary 2
Am planning an Alaskan cruise in about 18 months time, There is no way the OH can talk me out of taking at least one kilt if not more, mind you with her aversion to water I might be the only one going anyway. Although leaving me kilted with all those rich widows might cause her to seriously reconsider her aversion to boats and ships. :-)

Been on two cruises thus far (both to the Caribbean), and brought the full regalia both times for the "formal night" dining. Did not get a single negative comment. Was approached many times by those with Scottish ancestry. Enjoy the adulation!!
