Like I said above will probably go for it if we can get the funding together and the time off as it goes from Thursday to Saturday.
Thursday - Coronation Ball
Friday - Power Lunch: Galatoire's
Friday - Second Line Parade (not sure what this is): From Galatoire's down Bourbon to Johnny White's Balcony
Friday - Balcony Party: Johnny White's
Saturday - Pre-parade Breakfast: Tipitina's Uptown
Saturday - Parade
Saturday - After Parade Party: Tipitina's French Quarter
Quite a bit of funding needed for doing this. The Parde fee doesn't include the Ball, Luncheon, or extra throws.
On the medals, as above, I hadn't even considered wearing them. It was just the best photo I had in full black tie. I'm self conious about wearing medals. I don't like the distraction it causes, the questions or effect they have on people. I did a job and they gave me some chest candy. Most of these were for just breathing.
For those who haven't been in the military, the awards rarely have anything to do with how well you do your job. They make up for this by handing out bunches of "feel good" medals for just being in the military. Kind of takes the luster out of them.
