Re: Skunk Fur Dress Sporran
I have a skunk fur sporran from Fergusson Britt it really is a wonderful piece of kit. I admit I've worn it more for day wear than anything else. If you are interested in these things, J. Charles Thompson says the following in "So You're going to wear the kilt!" pg 72 in the 3rd edition:
"I suggested that a skunk-skin sporran, with it's black and white, would look well with the black and silver of Scottish evening dress." He goes on to say that a taxidermist in Nova Scotia has taken him up on it and now skunk skin sporrans are now readily available."
For me Thompson is not the be all end all, however his views are a good place to start.
