Over here for office wear boots (particularly silver indoor football boots) with the kilt would certainly raise some eyebrows, especially if you're trying to project a professional image.

Ordinary black leather lace-up shoes are fine, or ordinary brogues (not ghillies) for that little extra touch. I wear these with either the beige/oatmeal kilt hose or solid coloured hose toning with the main colour of whichever kilt I have on that day.
