I remeber the early 90's grunge era "kilts are edgy" trend. I went to a Guns-n-Roses concert in high school and Axl Rose was wearing a kilt and Docs.
...and his kilt was too long by XMTS standards, but it looked good on stage. Didn't Madonna wear a long kilted skirt on one of her tours?
That was the best laugh I've had in a long time! Duncan and Molly were played to perfection. "Have you seen my feet?" Priceless!

To thine own self be true.
Other people's reaction to one's garb is due to a complex set of values and lack of values and fears in their heads, at any rate. And there are many different flavours thereof, loose in what passes for society.
Good on you enjoying the camokilt, in this opinion, age has no bearing thereon.
Unless of course, you were wandering about clad in naught but a large white cloth diaper with large safety pins.
But then again, if it was a warm day and the diaper clean....

LOL
My favorite was, "it's not over because I'm not wearing my pink pashmina."

It was a toss-up on which was going onto my signature. Feet or pasmina!
