What's your favorite comment?
This week I received a new USAFR PB kilt from Barb T. I am retired from the Air Force and was very much looking forward to wearing it on Veteran's Day. As it turned out, one of my colleagues at work hosted a large party on Friday evening. I wore my kilt. As I expected, I was the only one kilted. I received a number of positive comments throughout the evening, but the best was when my wife and I were walking past one fellow. As we walked past, he commented, "Wait a second - I need a moment to take in the coolness of it all."
That got me thinking about how many nice things folks have said to me when I've been kilted. So, I thought I'd ask the Rabble to pass along their favorite comment.

Re: What's your favorite comment?
Well, the one that stands out to me most is "Nice outfit, I like that" from a young female cashier in a very rural southern mom&pop grocery store, mostly because I didn't expect it. It was in an area where a man in a business suit would be looked at with suspicion and where bib-overalls or camo hunting suits are the uniform of the day! On the other hand, it was also an area with a lot of early Scottish settlers.

In a music festival campground on a hot summer day; a young man to his friends in an envious voice: “His are cool, and mine are hot.”
And of course from women: "Can I?"

Re: What's your favorite comment?
I had a fellow tell me that me wished he had the . . . shall we say, " intestinal fortitude"--to wear the kilt It was intended as a great compliment.
And then, there was the very attaractive young lady who told me that she'd always wanted to see a man in a kilt, and that she liked it as much as she tought she would. I was only a very mild flirtation if a flirtation at all, but it was nicely phrased.

Several times I've had women say, "I love a man in a kilt!" One lady, although drunk, did me a pinch.

I was volunteer ushering at our local theatre for a kid's performance and a wee lass, no more than five or six probably, stopped, put her hands on her hips, looked me up and down and told me she loved my kilt...made my day.
