That's not particularly easy in Edinburgh, Al. I rather like all that attention one gets from the tourists and will quite happily pose for a photo if that's what they want - just think, those photos of those fine, kilted (young) men will be seen all around the world ......... it's all promotion of the kilt really. However, I might think differently if I lived there and was hassled every day!

Of course the whole purpose of the trip was to look for a second kilt. I headed off for Geoffrey (Tailors) and spent a while in the shop.

It was quite busy and I couldn't help myself ear wigging the other customers.

There was an American guy, buying a black TFCK and a flourescant pink sporran!! A young, English, lad with his mother. She was buying him a Prince Charlie outfit for his 18th birthday.

Then there was a young lad who was wearing a light grey, tweed TFCK. Several others were browsing the racks.

I went in with the intention of going for a charcoal grey TFCK. BUT........... then I saw it. The Scottish Rugby Union tartan. I haven't decided 100 per cent but I reckon this is what I'll go for. The guy took my details as there was no one in the shop to give me a quote on the TFCK (Howie was in London). I intend to pop back in a couple of weeks time.
The prices are all shown in the Geoffrey (Tailor)/TFCK catalogue, Al.

I've a feeling the latest edition was due to be published this month, but I have not yet received my copy. Anyway, in the previous (or current) edition the price for a 6 yard 'Auld Reekie' tweed kilt, regardless of colour (there are six) is £300. The 8 yard, hand sewn, is £420. I am assuming that is the fabric you had in mind. If, on the other hand, you were thinking of a Poly/Wool blend, which is lighter in weight, you're looking at around £285 and £395.

By the way, Al., if you really want to see Howie, especially at a weekend, you'd be advised to call and make an appointment. He is a busy guy and is always dashing about somewhere.

I'm also contemplating a leather kilt shirt!!!

Al
Oh, boy! I've not seen that one. It would be fabulous (and perhaps a fabulous price too?).
