Peter: I haven't seen the Burke book. I picked up a lot from Ken Perlman's 'Clawhammer Banjo' and others. Over the last year or so I've been delving into the banjo instruction books of the 1800's, mostly Thomas Briggs' 1855 and a couple of others. Similar mechanics to the playing style, but very different repertoire! The banjo I was playing was made by Jeff Menzies.
