I think the important thing for us is not to take ourselves too seriously. We do have a laugh here and some of the anecdotes and newspaper articles are funny.
I know folk who think contributing to any message board or being in a chat room with like minded people is strange/sad/geekish and so on. We know differently of course.
Is kiltwearing a 'crime'. Of course not. It's a perfectly natural thing to do. So, we may all be extroverts and in my case slightly eccentric, but basically we're just ordinary guys having a bit of fun.
Now then, Graham. Suppose you had guided your friends to Tom's or Chris's Atrium. How would they have reacted then?
