For those wondering about the "marketability" of such a sweater, I have to say, not as a hand knit! There is on the order of 2500 yards of yarn in this sweater. If she were to charge only 20 cents per yard for her knitting, that would be $500 right there. (Knitters typically charge between 10 and 30 cents per yard for commissioned work, depending on the complexity of the stitch). She also had over 300 ends to weave in, and that price figure does not even begin to address her time for that. So this was definitely a labor of love, and not anything that she will ever undertake for profit.
