I got both the wheeled and original versions at the same time. Used the wheeled version for kilts on a 4-day trip to my parents' in the Denver area in August, and loved it.

This Sunday I'll be going to Japan and plan to take one checked bag and one carryon as I need to take some "regular clothes"; appropriate clothing for days of martial arts training; bottle of malt for my hotel room; and "dressier" clothing for our grandmaster's birthday party at the end. And I need something I can use to schlep a sweater, my gi top, and a couple of other items back & forth between my hotel in Kashiwa and the training in Noda, which will be in an outdoor park (Shimizu Koen).

Checked bag will be my wheeled SwissGear Zurich black upright 24". I've used it several times and my girlfriend has borrowed it several times, and we both like it.

Carry-on will be the original SkyRoll with two kilts, my little Toshiba netbook (can't check it, must carry), and a few other odds and ends. Once I'm over there, I should be able to just remove the garment bag and use the tube with shoulder strap to take my stuff to & from training on a daily basis.
