    kilted nutcraker

was in my local craft store and came upon this little guy...

his kilt had no pleats, and im not exactly sure why he was a bear when all the rest of the nutcrackers had people faces. but i thought it was interesting to see a kilt brought into a holiday decoration. which got me to thinking, does any one here have any kilt christmas or holiday decorations? any kilted santa dolls? or kilted elf figures? tree ornaments? or other nutcrackers??

I'm a bit disappointed as I expected this thread to be about a ballet production that prominently featured kilts...

That said, I am glad to see somebody is making them!

I have a kilted, bagpipe-playing Santa Claus on my tree, and I did find this in an internet search:

a kilted production of the nutcracker would be quite a show, something i would definitely go see! and that is a great looking nutcracker you found.

most excellent, did you or some one else make the "wee ham" or is it just a remarkable resemblance?

I made and painted the doll then Star (The F-H.C.A.G.) made the tiny kilt. Afterwards I finished it withe the staff, glasses, tiny leather belt and chieftan's doublet, and genuine squirrel fur sporran.

I enjoy fiddling about in my workshop and making little odds and ends. This particular doll just came together perfectly, like the project wanted to happened. It makes us very proud that "wee Hamish" has found a home at Bicknell Grange.

    Cheers
