Re: Kilted Dating Forum?
I always thought that this site could use a forum or a social group where singletons can hang out. Not a match/dating place, just a place to ask advise or get opinions.

Re: Kilted Dating Forum?
I am single, but I don't date, and I don't think I'll change that.
That being said, I'm not so sure it would be a good path for the forum to take; thinking of some issues...
Like Piperdbh and his fruitcake habits...
I tried to ask my inner curmudgeon before posting, but he sprayed me with the garden hose…
Yes, I have squirrels in my brain…

Re: Kilted Dating Forum?
This is an interesting suggestion. Thank you for bringing it up.
I've been mulling over the possible ramifications of yet, another, forum section.
Our strength here on X Marks has always been that we have kept true to the original concept of a place dedicated to the kilt.
In every instance where we have diverted from or been allowed to stray from Hank's original idea things went wrong.
There are thousands of dating and social meeting sites out there. Do we really need another?
So, while perhaps an interesting idea on the surface, no.

I never asked my wife, maybe I should after all this time
My point was that we do not need a dating section, with Catherine and myself, we met here, however from that we started speaking to each other over skype and other similar programs.

Re: Kilted Dating Forum?
I suspect that such a forum would be dreadfully one-sided (gender-wise). While my wife loves a man in a kilt (well... No, not really. Truth be told, she loves ME -- kilt notwithstanding...) and would not and has not ever (to my knowledge) browsed through XMTS. She is occasionally curious about what I'm writing or posting or responding to, but she doesn't feel like it's her "thing." Which is just fine by me. Lol.
But the fact remains, unless a lass were out SPECIFICALLY looking for a man in a kilt to date and/or marry, there would be little reason to hang out here when there are far more purpose-built fora on the Internet, perhaps ones on which a more solid foundation for a relationship might be built, rather than a simple clothing choice.
I echo the sentiment that some of the matchup/singles sites may be more profitable -- just make sure you are upfront about kilt-wearing... That may certainly work to your benefit.
