Re: People of Walmart
The guy at 1:34 is not in a kilt, it is clearly a womens' denim skirt with no pleats what-so-ever.
And, the other guy at 3:09 appears to have pleats all the way around...Again, not a kilt, but a "Catholic school-girl" skirt.
Let them laugh...Their ignorance is just as comical as the video.

A simple response of "Your respect for other cultures shows how much class you have... or don't have." And walk away.

I don't understand this People of Walmart thing. Are they just putting up video of random people in Walmarts or do these people want to be on the site? The whole thing bothers me, and makes me worry about going to Walmart...
I tried to ask my inner curmudgeon before posting, but he sprayed me with the garden hose…

Do I correctly remember that we decided some time ago that making disparaging comments about people who have no recourse of self-defense is generally not what we want to do here?

Yes, and threads like this invariably end up being locked or removed. Nothing good can come from it.

They're taking candid pictures (or receiving candid pictures taken) of Walmart patrons to make fun of them. I am not a fan of Walmart, so I'll keep the rest of my opinions to myself.
Walmart as a corporation has nothing to do with that site. The people who are IN the pictures probably don't know they're on that site.

Here, here! Mocking the defenseless (and quite probably oblivious of their being featured on that site) definitely falls outside of the definition of "gentlemanly".

I share your feelings here as well.

Re: People of Walmart
As has been mentioned by others in this thread, it was decided quite some time ago that posts who's sole purpose was to put people in a bad light are not what this forum was about.
If I may quote from our rules:
Rule #4
- A person has a right to a reasonable expectation to privacy and respect. Posts or photos which invade someone's privacy are subject to removal. Posts or photos which defame, mock, ridicule, or which voice or promote prejudice or bigotry of any kind are subject to removal.
In the past there have been many references to the "People of WalMart" site. In each instance the thread had to be closed. It seems some people take pleasure in making fun of others. We are better than that.
Please don't let this thread go in the same direction.
