    Re: Sporrons

I use both hangers and a sporran strap. One other advantage of the hangers I find is when engaged in outdoor physical activities. In these instances I find the hangers preferable to a strap. Frequently when I am running around a park with my dogs I forgo the strap for hangers.

I use a thin braided leather belt.

Personally, I like the look of leather better than chain anyway.

    Re: Sporrons

I wear bespoke sporran straps in very smooth and supple, bridle leather from McRostie's of Glasgow. They come in a variety of browns and tans, and are completed with a brass buckle. These straps are truly a gem - entirely handmade and no detail is missed. As for chain straps, I do not wear them, and I think I may have worn one once. However, a nice hallmarked (linked) chain strap in sterling silver, from Ian Grant of Edinburgh, would do nicely for evening attire, when the silver and cairngorm is glittering in all its glory!

    Cheers,
