Re: The pillow that I made :)
I'm trying to think back to when I was a kid and we made candles. It seems like we did paint on them, which might not be a good idea with the wrong kind of paint, but it also seems like there was a sort of colored, liquid wax that could be used like paint.
We also made soap in different shapes and designs.
Good luck.

I love it, because like your project, it seems a great way to bring the two cultures together in a classy and meaningful manner.

Actually, ray skin (same) is not specifically a cross-cultural material for a sporran. Shagreen (what ray skin is called in europe) is a traditional grip material on Scottish baskethilted broadswords too...

Meghan,
"Pillow Talk", I believe, was a movie staring Rock Hudson and Doris Day. I can't remember the plot but it was a comedy and also had song by the same name that was quite popular. Of course the phase "pillow talk" had other connotations best left to our imaginations.

Hmmm, I wonder if anyone has tried to make simple tartans with one of those little looms that you make pot holders and things on... We used to play with those when I was a kid.

Thomas, I'd hate to think we were thinking the worst of you but your vague messages make me feel like you think my project is pretty ridiculous. Is there a reason why I should be having this vibe? If you want to talk about your thoughts on it, Id gladly discuss it in a private message so we dont get the thread closed. But I would like to hear your thoughts.
