What do you think of this kilt pin?

I have always been frightened that those pins would leave a very nice hole in my kilt and the primary reason I have avoided trying one, though I like the look.
Is my concern accurate or is does one usually use these pins one time and just leave it on the kilt?

It's a lovely pin but not uncommon, not that that is a bad thing. As Downunder says, have a shufftie at the Show us your kilt pins thread for some interesting variations on a theme. I think you can get away with just about anything as a kilt pin, so long as you like it.
