Wow, Bonnie Heather, just wow!
You obviouly have great talent, and what a fantastic opportunity to be able to show people how it's done.
How did it go?

Re: Kiltmaking presentation
Hey Bonnie
I am set for doing the same thing at our Saint Andrews Society dinner this Saturday for the second year. We have the same books! Well almost, i don't have "tartan for me"
I do love the 3 volume tartan books the best.
This year, because my display time is during "Happy hour" I will have the kilts on manikins so I don't have to have a heart attack every time someone leans in close for a look with their drinks poised over my kilts.

Re: Kiltmaking presentation
Thanks so much for your comments!
It went well and I was happy that a lot of people were very interested in tartan, family connections and how kilts are made. Some of the kilts were in the early stages and others were almost done except for the lining. That way, people could see what's involved with the cut-outs, canvas and inner construction.
I think people also enjoyed looking through the tartan swatch books, seeing the colors and feeling the actual fabric.
Here's a photo of the setup in the church lobby.

Re: Kiltmaking presentation
I must admit thay having seen a number of the tartan swatch books when I got my original kilt was very helpful in choosing... And then having the maker available to consult...
Though I must say the one you made was a very easy transaction too
