Another kilt hose question with garter ties and bonnet question

Should the dicing pick up the color of the hose?

That's not necessary.

If I choose the khaki or lovats would red garter ties be just right?

I do it all the time.

And should the dicing pick up the hose or tie color?

Again, not necessary. Some time there is a nice coordination possible between the garters and the neck tie, but that's just a nice benefit. You can also (in my mind at lest) get a nice effect from having the garter ties match a bright overcheck on your tartan. Just don't clash is all.
