Re: The Mystery of the Cookie Tin Piper
Well it seems as a group we have solved most of the mystery of the Cookie Tin Piper and through the process it has turned into a bit of a sad story. The PM pictured has passed on, so has the painter who did the portrait and sadly so has the company. I quick Google search led me to this evocative U-Tube short film entitled "Abandoned Scotland" filmed at the old factory in Glasgow http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d-3L5vmjIl4 . On a personal note my mother who must have original purchased the tin of biscuits just passed away last month.
At the moment the whole thing has made me feel a bit melancholy. However, I will keep the old lid and I am sure with time it will still rekindle some of the joyous feeling it engendered when it was brought out after a meal when I was seven years old.
