    Doctor's appointment

Going in for my regular checkup on Thursday, kilted, just so when the Doc tells me to drop trou, I can tell her, "No. I don't have to."

    Re: Doctor's appointment

I made the "mistake" of wearing a kilt to a doctor's appointment once. Now whenever I see her, she asks "Why no kilt today?" The reason being either I have come from work or are going to work after the appointment and I'm not allowed to be kilted there. Still, it is nice to know my doctor appreciates seeing me kilted.

Thanks/ My Doc has a great sense of humor. She has to, being a Michigan alum here in the Land of the Crazy Chestnut People (Buckeye fans).

    Re: Doctor's appointment

Went kilted to the Doc on Monday. Understand that my wife and I go to the exam together and have been going to this same doctor for 30 years. He just said he liked. Good enough for my wife and I. A year ago whenwe went he just flipped it up, took a look and said "Just as I thought." My wife laughed.

Does that count as a kilt check?

I shouldn't be laughing, but that one was too funny.

That sounds like an old doctor... lol. Those guys aren't afraid of anything. I think the toughest old bird physician that I have ever worked with was an old school style country doc that acted as my preceptor when I was a medical student.

He had a tendency to do things like this as well. And everyone loved him, because they knew it was just him.

Here's just a snippet of this doctor: A man was killed by a wood augger. He being the town corner as well as physician, and medical examiner... was called in to "examine" the situation.

He looked at it, while chewing on a piece of hay. And grunted. "Hmph."

he reached into the augger and pulled out the guy's severed leg. Hands it to the firefighter next to him.

The burly firefighter looked down at the severed leg in his arms and passed out. My preceptor glanced at him and grunted. "Darn it. We lost another one."

He lifted enough kilts in his day too. These old country docs are tough as nails and witty to boot.

    Re: Doctor's appointment

One of the two people in the world who can kilt-check me and live to tell the tale (the other is my lovely bride). Of course, my Doc is prevented by HIPA laws and doctor-patient privilege from revealing any secrets.
