Anyone ever worn a kilt to the beach? If so... what did you wear with it?

I know Graham did and I would bet that Hank has before. My problem is if I am at the beach I
will be on the water windsurfing. 8)

I have not been to the beach since I became a full time kilt wearer, but the idea appeals to me. To the mountains and hiking yes I have. I also want to go fly fishing kilted, but alas I have not. The idea of kilt wearing most anyplace appeals to me.

I don't have the build for it anymore, but for a younger guy!... casually strolling along a beach wearing nothing but a kilt, sandals and towel... all those tanned lassies lined up like frankfurters... the smell of surf, french fries, and coconut tanning lotion in the air... and ?you? getting all the attention! 8)

Beach? Let's see, oh right. Ocean and sand. Haven't seen one of them in years. If I ever make it to the coast, I'll be sure to wear my kilt.

Kiltedmusiclover is right, I often wear one on the beach, they are ideal, especially the velcro ones.
It is very easy to whip it off and run to the water for a dip.
Now our regimental brethren may have difficulties here on public beaches
Even in winter i wear a kilt for walks along the beach.
I just wear a T shirt with the kilt, mostly walking barefooted in summer.
Sorry philbo but I pity those who cannot get to the ocean, I could never live far from it. That's why i love Tasmania, you can have the mountains and the beach within an hour of each other.

Now you are rubbing it in along with the Vancouverites.

Yes! Every time we go to the beach.
Elva and I live about 65 miles from the beach (Sea Side) and we try to go every other week, the weather permitting.
When the weather is warmer I wear sandals I purchased spacificly for wading in the surf. The water is aprox. 57 degrees year round here in Ore. so swimming for an old fart like me is out of the question. But wading up to my knees of a little more is OK. Other wise I wear shoes. As for the rest of my clothing it depends again on the weather. I dress any where from a t-shirt to a rain coat.

It surely has to be way cooler than those baggy swimtrunks or shorts that seem to be so popular right now! Those things look terribly uncomfortable as well as just plain terrible.
