Pretend the kilt does not exist and put together the rest of your ensemble with your own idea of style, then slip the kilt underneath it all and look to see if you feel any adjustments need be made (probably not). As long as nothing in your outfit is lime green or optic yellow or hunter's safety orange you should do fine. You don't have to do a matchy matchy thing but just feel comfortable in what you do choose to wear.
