Although the article refers to her as "Scottish Fashion Awards Founder", it forgets to mention that she's also the paper's fashion editor.

    Isn't that funny?

Seriously, way to rain on the parade of a wonderful thing that got young people involved in support for their athletes AND got them interested in the process of Tartan creation. What a silly rant.

I wish that young lad all the best and am incredibly proud of him and of the running of the games there so far.

From a branding point of view I can see why they picked it. I think it is great for the intended purpose. Kudos to the designer.

    Excellent news Arlen.
Familiar territory too. My late wife Ann was educated at Shawlands Academy. I visited there last May when I delivered Glasgow City Council's open top bus there so that it could take part in the Glasgow South Side Festival parade from Shawlands Academy to Queens Park.
the Glasgow Evening Times printed the objections from the founder of the Scottish Fashion Awards, Tessa Hartmann, she is a fairly miffed lady
I have never heard of Tessa Hartmann or her Scottish Fashion Awards. If anyone took her seriously before, then this outburst will have lost her any credibility which she may have had.
The whole point of the exercise was to involve schoolchildren and no irrational and jealous comment from this lady can take anything away from this young lad's splendid achievement.

Given the praise from local and national officials, I think we need not worry about one person's opinion. It's a wonderful design, regardless of origin. It only makes it better, that it's a student, a Glaswegian, and the process involved schools across Scotland.

Nice design, and well done, that lad.

And a big raspberry to the Harridan-Who-Shall-Not-Be-Named.
