Some of these are named tartans...not sure if they all are? The weight is listed as "medium." It also says nothing about the type of selvedge, but I would guess that you'd have to tuck it into a hem. The first three choices (listed as 100% wool) are straight woven and not ideal for kilt making. However, the remaining ones (listed as "wool blend") are all twill-woven just like kilt fabric.
Don't know if anybody has any experience with this company or not...I DON'T. I just figured I'd pass along something I found as a possible help to those of you looking for inexpensive fabric for a crack at kilt-making.
